We currently live in a society, where a piece of plastic is more important than ever and where material is often the trendsetter of somebody. Clothes should not always make the man, but currently you are the car you drive, the phone you have, the money you got on your bank account, the your hairmousse you use and the watch you are wearing.
Society has grown above individuality, which is a quite dangerous leap towards the future if mankind does not watch out. Owning property is currently one of the most important facts in our throw-away-society. Where our fuels won’t last forever, society has been formed to such way where electronics are not having the value of their counterparts of dozen of years ago.
- Although, can we really call this society?
- Where you have to change yourself to someone elses demise?
- Do you have to change yourself to the newest trends?
- Are you really less important, because you do not want to follow a trend?
- Which value do you got towards others, towards objects you can buy (almost) everywhere?
- Where do you draw the line?
When you go to a store, you will be only most-valued when you can buy in large. As small consumer you often get less respect or attention instead when you are buying a lot. If you already look what I had with the shaving machine, which is merely one example of the many, which hits people on a daily base.
Your neightbour has a bigger car and I’m only driving in a small old car. A bird likes to show off its feathers, but, how far can you show off? Am I automatically being categorized in a lower class, which makes my neighbour have the right to look down on me? Or am I a human who deserves equal respect and equal right on feelings and ideals? Which are not connected to me on products but rather how mankind is really made?
This has partially to do with (over)population, but is in some situations seriously being pulled over the line when a man should be feeling “good” instead of “bad”.
Society is over-protective by drastic measures, by people and government, while mankind often doesn’t think clearly which exactly they are protecting, which ideals or which errors are made by protecting a society; running in many cases on the neck of the emotions of the fellow citizen.
Often protected by prejuidice, wrong to hostile reactions, towards the fellow human. It gets more often that people are getting more intolerant toward eachother just because of that protection habit. This habit is often also woven together with jalousy and greed.
